Amy was the name I gave her she died shortly before 7pm today. I held her and as soon as I set her down she died.
I really got attached to her and at one point thought she might make it. I think she was born too soon. Maybe she had internal stuff going on.
I tried to save her but couldn't

ReplyDeleteThey may be "just chickens" to some folks, but once you get your hands dirty in the raising of your own flock, there's more going on here than just food production. Backyard chickens and humans can have a real relationship, not dissimilar to that of any other pet.
I am really sorry about little Amy. Know that you did all you could.
